Project Description:
Development of a master plan for the management of domestic
solid waste generated by the nine municipalities of the Federation.
Services:
Studies were completed in three phases:
Phase 1: Assessment of current situation,
including:

Population/awareness
level survey
-
Waste
sampling and analysis
-
Feasibility
and socio-economic studies
Phase
II- Development of four alternative scenarios for
collection, processing and disposal, consultation with clients
and stakeholders, selection of best alternative.
Phase III- Detailed design of selected alternative
that includes the specification of containers and collection
vehicles, routing plans, design of a waste processing/segregation
facility, design of composting plant, completion of bills
of quantities for civil works and structures and completion
of a detailed cost estimate for project implementation. The
works also included the completion of Environmental Impact
Assessment for the site proposed for the construction of the
waste processing and composting facility. Also technical documents
(Dossier Technique) were prepared and submitted to EU funded
program for evaluation and financing.
