Project Description:
The project consists of collecting the hospital waste generated
by the hospitals, private health clinics and care centers
within the Federation, and then transporting it to Ain Wzain
hospital where an autoclave will be installed. The hospital
waste will be shred and sterilized before being eliminated
with domestic waste.
The autoclave will be isolated from hospital activities and
will be installed in the basement. The site will be accessible
by the collection and transportation vehicles.
Services:
Development of a master plan for the management of medical
waste for health care facilities in the Chouf area (three
hospitals and numerous clinics).
Completion of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report
addressing the potential impacts that could arise from the
installation and operation of the autoclave, proposing mitigation
measures to minimize these impacts and defining an environmental
management plan to secure process efficiency. The EIA also
analyzed the waste sorting and handling procedures, collection,
transporting, treatment and final disposal of the waste, and
awareness and capacity development within the healthcare facilities.
