Project Description:
Mimosa, established in 1967,
is one of the largest manufacturing factories that produce,
convert, and distribute a wide range of hygienic tissue paper
products, carton corrugated boards, craft cardboards, and
polyethylene bags. The facility is located in Kaa-El- Rim in
the Bekaa Valley at 1250 m above sea level, within a 40,000 m2
plot of land. The total built-up area of the facility is about
25,000m2 and includes operational and
administrative buildings, warehouses, parking and auxiliary
facilities. The main brands produced include: tissue paper
products (facial, hand, bathroom, napkin and towel); plastic
and foil products (polyethylene bags: for trash, freezing and
storing; polypropylene straws); cardboard and corrugated
boxes; and aluminum foil (converting).
Services:
Diagnose and analyze
different pollution loads created by the production processes
at the facility; study the production processes (input, output
and consumption of raw materials in all the operational
units); and collect water, wastewater, noise (inside and
outside the facility), and air samples for analyses; prepare
and formulate an action plan for continual performance
improvement; assess the significance of each deficiency or
pattern of deficiencies in the overall functioning of the
control system; evaluate the effectiveness of management
control systems; and develop recommendations to minimize
possible problems on the environment.
